Novacart relies on Bimec for the supply of a new STM80 C+ Duplex Slitter Rewinder
BIMEC Srl, a historic Italian company that has been producing slitter rewinders and auxiliary equipments for the processing of plastic, paper and laminates since 1976, recently supplied the Novacart company with the STM80 C+ Duplex Slitter Rewinder model.
Founded in 1926, Novacart company operates on a full cycle in the production of a vast range of paper and cardboard items for the food and confectionery industries, counting several factories and a distribution network covering more than 80 countries worldwide.
Novacart asked for Bimec's support as it needed to increase the production capacity of its site in Garbagnate Monastero (LC) by implementing a new plant for slitting and rewinding paper with various thicknesses, which guaranteed high performance and processing flexibility.
Bimec has therefore designed a full optional solution for Novacart which, thanks to the automatisms with which it is equipped, makes it possible to simplify the operator's work, to reduce machine downtime between working cycles and to obtain a perfect finished product.
The STM80 C+ model is equipped with a semi-integrated unwind stand, which allows easy access to the slitting area and, thanks to the presence of a well-insulated platform from the floor, guarantees hygiene preventing the risk of material contamination.
It has independent winding motors, a specific splicing table to perform an easy and practical splicing and a system with load cells that allows winding in closed loop control, thus offering greater sensitivity in tension management.
The machine is designed for pneumatic circular knives slitting and counts the automatic positioning system of the knife holders and multi-groove female knives, which are combined with the automatic single laser beam for core positioning and a reel unloading station, which allows the automatic opening/closing and rotation of the side stand arms.
The STM80 C+ model unwinds mother rolls with a diameter up to 1200 mm, rewinds finished rolls with a diameter up to 800 mm and reaches a maximum speed of 800 m/min.
