Lineapack chooses Bimec to strengthen production growth and purchases the model TF 60, a compact and automated Single-Face Slitter Rewinder

The significant increase in production volumes has led Lineapack, a Veneto-based company active since the 1970s in the production of eco-sustainable packaging, to enhance its manufacturing capacity with the installation of a new slitter rewinder.

The company needed to add a third solution capable of supporting higher output while maintaining high quality standards. The main requirement was a machine able to simplify operators’ work, combined with a particularly strict constraint related to the limited space available in the production department.

In this context, the choice fell on Bimec’s TF, one of the most compact and automated models in the range, capable of delivering high performance with an extremely small footprint, thanks to its innovative design featuring unwinding and rewinding on the same side.

“We needed a highly automated new slitter, but with very limited space available: the TF allowed us to add significant production capacity without having to redesign the area,” explains Michele Chinello, Technical and Production Manager at Lineapack.

The machine has been in operation for about four months and is now fully integrated into the production process. Operators particularly appreciate the high operating speed, which reaches up to 800 m/min, and the automatic positioning system of the knife holders and multi-groove female knives. This feature represents a major improvement compared to the solutions previously used, where manual knife positioning required great care and precision. With this system, operators’ work is significantly simplified thanks to reduced setup times and high accuracy in setting slitting pitch, ensuring also excellent job repeatability.

The TF model processes mother rolls up to one meter in diameter on the unwinding side and rewinds finished rolls up to 600 mm in diameter. It is also equipped with an automatic single laser beam for core positioning, synchronized with the automatic knife positioning system.

Mainly used for paper processing, the TF has also proven effective on plastic films and paper/film laminates, confirming the versatility of the solution.
